With low clouds in the sky at 9:30ish, we headed to the market in Greve in Chianti as we thought Phoebe would enjoy that experience! Since Sarah knows the way & my questionable navigation skills weren't needed, Phoebe got to sit in the front seat to better see the spectacular views along the hilly drive! There were lots of bicyclists out on the road which made Sarah earn her keep! The following were sights that greeted us once we had left the post office where the fine for our improper parking incident was paid in full thanks to the Italian woman behind me in line who spoke enough English to help me fill out form so that chapter is closed! Well, maybe...we discovered some scratches on the car & think they were caused by the tow truck. So if rental company calls us on them, we may have to open up the book again! Time will tell...
The market was very busy - a lovely fall day to shop, meet friends, eat, etc. Yes, I had a pastry - reminiscent of a mini elephant ear stuffed with apricot. It was good! I'm wondering if I eat a difference type every day, will I taste them all?! Here are some photos of the booth/trucks:
Our favorite young man waited on Phoebe and Sarah while I rested on a bench just enjoying all the pointing & gestures!
Home we go with two quick stops at terracotta places. One not very interesting and one closing gate as we are parking!
These are showing my skill as a back seat photographer! The bicyclists were still out on our way home. It was such a gorgeous day!
Once we got home, we ate our sandwiches and fruit sitting on the patio. After awhile Bryan came to remove the grapes from the vines which was good as wasps were becoming quite numerous & excited! Here he is at work while we sat & watched:
Marinia came also to do some weeding in flower beds so Phoebe and her had a great time talking gardening!! We went up to their home to see those gardens and the lower level rooms inside. Fun!!
And now I am going to bed as we have a very early day in the morning. But first I have to check on the NE football game...

Sounds like a pretty mellow day. A regular day in Italy!
