We have been here one week! Today was a peaceful, relaxing day. The morning was foggy and damp with the sun finally appearing and bringing warmth. We moved out to the patio to enjoy the wildlife, lovely flowers and trees.
The wasps hovered around the overhead grape vines. One silly wasp went up my pant leg, became agitated and lightly stung me! Sarah was also stung the other day while killing a wasp who had made it inside the house. Hopefully we are done with those type of experiences! A pheasant came into the yard but didn't linger long enough for a photo while this lizard posed when it was his turn:
We eventually went out to find the road to the east of us where we can see traffic going to & fro. We did find it:
If you look very closely, you can see our orange house next to a bigger one below a bright, white building! The road continued on in to Grassina where we attempted to have lunch. Unfortunately, it was after 3:00 so the restaurants were closed until 7:00! While walking around we came upon this church:
We proceeded to buy gelato cones - I had very dark chocolate while Sarah had creme which is a local tradition! We enjoyed the sunshine sitting by this fountain:
We headed home with me content to once more enjoy the sunshine on the patio while Sarah took a walk in a new direction. With dusk, cooler temperatures came so we ate inside. Sarah created fresh green salads to complement the leftovers of her venison dish from yesterday. Plans are made for tomorrow - we are heading a new direction! Beds need to be made as used linens were collected today. The moon is huge and beautiful with a chill in the air!

Wasps! Boo.
