Friday, October 21. A lovely, fall day in Tuscany! You are going to have to take my word for it as we are having another bout of technical difficulty right now and I can't upload any photos! Last night's issue was a rainstorm with a power outage. Tonight's issue is still to be determined... perhaps because I am trying to upload photos into Google Drive since my phone is getting low on storage space...but that wouldn't affect Sarah & Phoebe & they are also having issues. Oh well, it is time for bed anyway!
We had a very nice 100 km drive to Pisa today. No trouble at all in finding our way! The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a great sight to see plus the baptistry, cathedral, and green space around them. Phoebe and Sarah went inside all of them but did not climb the 8 stories in the Tower! I roamed around the grounds, sat on fountain steps, ate a chocolate croissant and people watched! Tourism is also alive and well in Pisa!! After eating pizza and a pinini plus cannoli for dessert, we headed west to the ocean. It was so good to be by the sea!! We were at the Gulf of Genoa on a rocky promontory so weren't right by the water but, oh, could hear & see the waves!! As we headed home, we drove parallel to the water - we could have been along any seashore. Once again, we had no trouble with directions, etc. Now granted we were on a pretty straight shot on major roads in the Arno Valley versus on tiny unlabeled mountainous lanes!! But it is getting easier to navigate as we become more familiar of area and traffic patterns. A quiet evening at home just relaxing and enjoying the patio until sunset when it turns too chilly to be comfortable. Also managed to do a load of laundry which is now drying in the kitchen!! Hopefully photos tomorrow... good night.
Another lovely day.
